About Laura

I am a clinical psychologist and supervisor with 11 years experience. Prior to starting my practice, I had a background in community mental health working with clients from the LGBTQIA+ community, families, as well as providing individual therapy across the life-span. I offer both therapy as well as supervision in my practice and enjoy working with supervisees at different stages of their career. I specialise in working with eating disorders and childhood trauma (including emotional neglect), however also have experience and enjoy working with other mental health and life-related concerns. I see adults, as well as adolescents and children in my practice, frequently work with clients from the LGBTQIA+ community, and have knowledge around working with complexities around women’s health (e.g. PMDD, endometriosis) and cultural as well as migrant backgrounds. For clients wishing to access therapy in their mother tongue, I also offer appointments in Finnish and German.
My orientation is mainly psychodynamic, however I am also trained in and use Schema Therapy, Emotion-focused therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and CBT. My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed with an emphasis on good listening, growing understanding and making meaningful changes. I believe strongly in feeling heard and finding one’s own voice and answers in therapy in a supportive, curious and guided space. In work with children I use play and creative approaches alongside talking therapy and work with parents.
Update on availability: I have upcoming availability in September for new supervisees and clients.
You can contact me below (either online form or via details provided). Finding a good fit with a therapist is important so I am happy to arrange an initial call to answer any questions.
